Burden of Proof

I visited the Photographer's Gallery at the weekend and found myself incredibly inspired by the exhibition 'Burden of Proof'.  I must of spent a good hour wandering around the first floor in which the focus was real life crime photography that was once in fact hard evidence in courtrooms as well as recreations of more recent crimes/attacks.

I noted some visitors around me that day commented on how 'disturbing' and 'horrifying' some of the photos were - especially those from the 19th century that were in fact real life crime scenes with real dead bodies.  Nevertheless, I found the photos rather haunting and artistic - they were so raw.  It got me thinking about the idea of mindfulness again, and what the relationship the body has to the mind after death.
